Spread the word! Our rotating, quarterly action campaigns are focused on choosing a locally owned small business over a big box retailer. 

The Eat, Drink and Be Local action campaign encourages folks to choose neighborhood restaurants over national chains. Even if a national chain is locally owned *and* employs locals, their franchise fees, marketing budgets, and branded food inventory orders often fly out of SC up to corporate HQ.

Just make a few less trips per month to the national chain restaurants and get your breakfast, lunch or dinner from a locally owned restaurant. Purchase directly or on-line from the South Carolina, locally-owned businesses by 15% a month or more, and watch our local economy grow!

Our “BuySC” campaign is promoting the purchase of products and services from our South Carolina-owned, local small businesses.

Multiple studies have shown that every dollar we spend at local independent businesses, on average, generates at least THREE TIMES MORE direct local economic benefit than those dollars spent at an absentee-owned chain. 

Since over 60 percent of new jobs come from small businesses, “BuySC” is about growing our local and state economies by supporting our small businesses and entrepreneurs.

The BuySC Directory

Use this online directory to find South Carolina-owned, local businesses in your area. Many are offering discounts when you mention that you found them on “BuySC” or bring in a copy of their ad.

Businesses can be searched by county. Within each county directory, businesses are listed by type.

You can also search by type of business. Within each category, businesses are listed by county.  Within each search type, you'll find the directory listings in the format shown below:

How to be included in the “BuySC” directory (it's free!):

All South Carolina-owned businesses with fewer than 100 employees are invited to join our “BuySC” directory at no charge. Simply complete the free, online BuySC signup form:

Enhanced listings are available at sponsored SCSBCC membership levels.
